STATEMENT
Alfred Cheng
B. Hong Kong. 1988
Even after completing my studies in other fields, I ultimately chose to create art and become an artist because my sensitivity to human and objects emotions has remained unchanged since childhood, allowing me to deeply perceive everything around me.
Whether it's a tiny flower or a silent object, I can always feel the emotions and stories they carry. This perception drives me to use my works as a means to capture these moments and emotions. I believe that the essence of the world is already incredibly complex, filled with rich details and purity. For this reason, I don't feel the need to add extra stories to explain or alter my works. Instead, I hope to capture and showcase the beauty and emotions that already exist, allowing people to re-recognize and reflect on this inherently pure world.
My artistic creation is not only a response to essence but also an exploration of inner emotions. I hope that viewers can find resonance in my works, feeling those seemingly insignificant yet powerful emotions.
